Excluded Sports WRESTLING Wrestling has been a sport in the Olympics ever since the very first Olympics over 2000 years ago. But currently, due to low participation in the sport, the Olympics has decided to cancel. The decision is still undecided, but isn't looking good. Millions of people are arguing about it, saying that it shouldn't be taken out. Some say it shouldn't be taken out because of its history in the Olympics. Others say that wrestling is an interesting sport to watch, and that it shouldn't be canceled. The decision should be made sometime soon, and it could change Olympics history.
POLO Polo was one of the original sports of the new Olympics. it appeared in five Olympic Games: 1900, 1908, 1920, 1924, and 1936. Polo wasn't very popular, and wasn't watched or attended by anybody. many people didn't even understand the sport, its point, or why it was in the Olympics. Following the Olympics, polo was cancelled, but it wasn't much of an uproar as the wrestling cancellation. Polo, even today isn't a popular sport. Few play it, and even fewer watch it. Polo will probably never see its day in the Olympics again.
TUG OF WAR Tug of war used to be a very popular Olympic sport. It went active for over 50 years until a crazy accident happend. Two countries were competing in an all out tie. One country suddenly pulled the rope really hard, as a member of the other team tripped and cracked open his head. He was rushed to the hospital and ended up dyeing hours later. The Olympics then chose the sport dangerous, and then cancelled it. Tug of war is still a sub popular sport, but still is considered dangerous, and will never be put in again due to injuries.
